What leg hair removal method do you prefer? Do you go with the norm and shave your legs or do you go for one of the other leg hair loss treatments?

Whatever method you choose – is it the right one for you and your lifestyle? You want to have nice legs that are their smoothest, but you’re not sure which leg hair removal method will give you the best results.

When did we women start this shaving of the legs?

It started around the turn of the twentieth century when sleeveless dresses were becoming more popular and there was an obsession to remove the hair from the underarms. Around this time, hemlines were become shorter thereby realizing the need to remove the hair from the legs as well.

Leg hair removal methods, such as razors and depilators, became more popular when they showed up in Sears Roebuck’s catalogs in 1922. Now, in current times, women will start shaving as early as adolescence. It’s all about smooth legs!

So, how many different leg hair loss methods are there?

Here is a list of the different leg hair loss methods you can try. Before you can choose which method you wish to use, you should find out as much about each method as you can, along with their pros and cons. Click on the method you want to know about and read more about it and my product reviews.

  • Razor Shaving (Wet Shaving) – is the most common and least expensive method to remove leg hair. However, some razors are better than others, giving you a smoother shave that may last longer than the typical day. Which one is best for you?
  • Electric Shaving (Dry Shaving) – is using an electric shaver more cost effective than razor shaving? You can use these wet or dry to remove your hair. But does it give you as close a shave?
  • Waxing – is a popular method, usually performed by cosmetologists, that is quickly becoming a favorite to do on your own in your home. While some products are messier than others, your legs should stay smoother longer than shaving.
  • Hair Removal Creams – Typically performed by cosmetologists, now this can be done in the privacy of your own home. While some would say that this method can be very messy, it can give you smooth legs longer than shaving will.
  • Epilators – are a method of removing more hairs in one single stroke by plucking the hairs from the root (several hairs at a time). Hair typically takes 2-4 weeks to grow back. The newer models are easier and quicker to use.
  • Laser Treatment – is a medical procedure, performed by medical specialists, that uses laser light to remove unwanted hair. It is not a procedure that is easy to do on your own. It will take several sessions (3-8) to kill the leg hair in all phases of growth.
  • Electrolysis – is a method of putting a metal probe into each hair follicle, delivering electricity, thereby destroying the hairs. This is by far the most costly of all the methods. Check it out to see if it’s the method for you.
